Leafs weren't stingy with Matthews just made all the media feed off it. Deal was shored up in an initial 10 minute convo. They just took a little longer to put the ink on paper. Uncle Lou was prob taking the grandkids out on the yacht and Auston was catching sun in Arizona. Stop with the stingy nonsense. It's getting old

Leafs don't need Vesey we have enough young forwards
Only way I'd take Vesey is if he is short short term signing and tradeable
Use him for a piece to score us a nice healthy horse of a defenseman
But we all know that will not happen

Matthews was signed without issue. Nobody thinks the Leafs/Lou were stingy except for idiot media trolls trying to create a summer soap opera out of his ELC.

Holland doesn't deserve what he is asking for. I bet Corrado and Marancin settle before the arbitration ruling.

After clearing waivers earlier in the week, Holland's representatives submitted an offer of $2.1 Million, while the Leafs countered with an offer of $900,000.

Some bright light referred to Wikipedia for Jhonas Enroth and it lists Toronto Maple Leafs as his current team. Enroth will be cheap.

Yes. Holland was paid $750k last season so getting $2.1M next year after clearing waivers is now unlikely.

Agreed. I'm likely to get some flack for this, but the media is making Vesey out to sound like a sure thing top 6 guy on any team.. this isn't the case at all IMO. He would be a great signing if he signed for 2-3 years and would possibly spend some or most of it in the AHL, but I don't view this any differently then any free agent signing out of Europe. Some take the league by storm, but most need more time to develop or acclimate to the pro NHL game.

I agree with those offers too.

I like the idea that Toronto will no longer be the place for crappy players to pick up a big pay check.

If Toronto has done one thing consistently in the cap era, it has been spending to the cap on terrible teams/players.

I will be nice to change that culture too.
